Recognizing Excellence: the Blue Marina Awards and the marina revolution
Promoting the Blue Economy: the Blue Marina Awards’ commitment to a sustainable future
The Blue Marina Awards were created to enhance the Marinas sector by recognizing marinas that stand out for sustainability, innovation, safety, inclusivity and quality of hospitality.
The initiative is developed with the involvement of institutions and sector stakeholders, with the goal of strengthening the competitiveness of the system and promoting ever higher standards.
Described by the Italian Minister of Tourism as “an accelerator of quality, sustainability, and competitiveness for the entire marina sector,” the Blue Marina Awards assess multiple operational and management indicators, providing a real and measurable picture of marina development.
How it works
Annual evaluation based on transparent criteria published in the official regulations
Assessment certificate for all participants, offering a snapshot of the current state of play and guidance for improvement
Seal of Excellence for Marinas for facilities that exceed the assessment threshold, valid for one year
At the core is the Blue Economy: the sea as an economic, social, and environmental resource. The pathway encourages choices and investments that generate value for coastal communities, improving services, sustainability, and the ability to attract quality tourism.
The system wins.
All marinas are protagonists: it is not a competition “against one another,” but a process of continuous improvement that shines a light on the commitment of facilities and territories. A shared pathway to grow together, with a clear and common direction.
We do not reward only the best: we support everyone in becoming one.
